On March 6th, 2020 at 6:30, we invite you to enjoy an intimate and informal wine dinner with Winemaker Dan O’Brien of Gail Wines in Sonoma Valley, CA!
Gail is the family wine of brothers Dan and Patrick O’Brien. With their mother’s spirit in mind, they produce single vineyard wines from the eastern hillsides of Sonoma County, a place she would have considered paradise. Inspired by their shared memories of breaking bread back home in Rhode Island, the brothers produce pure, authentic wines for the table using traditional, Old World methods. The wines are fermented in small lots using ambient, native yeasts, then aged sur-lie in seasoned French oak barrels with minimal movement or manipulation. Each bottle is bottled unfiltered and hand-numbered all in the name of their mother Gail.
Dan and his family have a particularly special connection to Gracie’s for back when the family lived in Rhode Island, Gail and Dan’s Aunt Doris were both Trinity and PPAC subscribers and would often visit Gracie’s before shows. Dan says that Gracie’s was their favorite restaurant.
Dan will join us again at Gracie’s for a brief reception and four-course seated dinner prepared by Gracie’s Executive Chef Matt Varga, during which Dan will pour some of his most special wines. This is an extraordinary opportunity for guests to engage with Dan and to experience memorable wines from this family-owned winery.
Gracie’s Winemaker Series dinners are designed to be friendly, warm, and sociable affairs in which guests have the opportunity to share a meal with our favorite winemakers and discuss their wines, winemaking philosophy, backgrounds, and more.
